Is this blog still active?

As my last post says, I’ve moved to a new [blog], because this one is a sideblog and difficult to really manage.  Thanks for your interest!  It’s nice to know Nakoma is missed :)

It’s a main blog this time, not a sideblog!  I can send asks and follow people ‘n’ shit :3

still under construction, tho

So the thing about Nakoma is that she’s a sideblog.  The other thing about Nakoma is that right until this instant I was almost certain I’d deleted her in a fit of rage.  The rage, you see, was directed at how many extraneous blogs I had floating around.  But I had the sideblog attached to TWO ACCOUNTS and when I deleted her on one, the admin privileges shifted to the second main blog!

But now I have so few blogs floating around that I almost don’t know what to do with my time anymore!  And I’m beginning to really miss Nakoma.  I might even ask DWRP to let her back in, but the important thing I have to do first is make her a main blog.  I think that’s part of why hardly anybody used to talk to her: she couldn’t follow back or send asks w/o them coming from sketchbookpinchedbyababoon.

I have to go take a midterm right now (on the early Stuart dynasty in England, aka ca. 1607 when we sailed the open sea) but when I’m back on I’m going to set up a main blog for Nakoma.  I’ll keep this blog up, and I’ll post a link here when I’ve made a smooth transition.

“Oh,” said Nakoma, because she wasn’t sure what else to say.  Hugging her arms to her chest to keep them warm in the grey afternoon light, she studied the man.  Taking a walk?  He didn’t seem to be armed - and with a best friend like Pocahontas, Nakoma of all people could understand when somebody felt like spending time apart from their friends - but she still wasn’t inclined to trust the man that way.

“Well, if you’re headed in that direction,” she gestured the way he was going, “there’s nothing but forest for a long time.  The other settlers don’t really come this way.”

Adam looked ahead as the woman made explained what was ahead of him.  Finding nothing but forest didn’t sound like a bad thing to Adam. Might actually be nice but the again he didn’t exactly know what might be out in these woods. It could be completely different from France and he certainly wasn’t familiar with it. But walking for a little bit in that direction not knowing what might be out there might be a nice thing. He knew he would be away from most people for a little while.

He looked at her curiously upon her next statement. “Is there a reason the others don’t go this way?” He didn’t know if it was because they didn’t like to travel far from the fairly small settlement or if there was another reason. It could truly go either way he didn’t think this woman would have said that without a reason.

Nakoma laughed, a little.  She couldn’t help it.  She had been taught to plant crops and make clothing, not to hold a tamahaac or a bow.  So she recognized that she knew something the new settler did not, something that put her at an advantage, and enjoyed the feeling.  ”Well, you’re new to James Town, aren’t you?” she guessed, putting her hands on her hips.  ”From what I hear, the settlers tell stories about the village full of ‘savages’ around the fire at night.”

Actually Nakoma’s village was a short way north of the direction in which this man had been headed, but the pale-faced settlers did not know exactly where, and Nakoma wasn’t about to be the one to tell them.  In the direction that this man was headed was, however, a bear that hadn’t woken up from its long winter sleep yet.  Like most of her village, Nakoma knew enough to give the cave a wide berth - but if this man was mauled, who knew what the settlers would think?  They had a habit of blaming everything on Nakoma’s people.

Nakoma pinched her eyes closed for a brief moment.  Then she stepped out from behind the birch trunk, as if she had only just walked out of the trees…instead of hiding behind one…and let surprise at the sight of the man show on her face.  It was partly genuine: Nakoma had never spent much time at the fort, but even to her his clothes seemed somehow different.  ”Are you…lost?” she prompted, trying to look more unconcerned than she felt.

Adam stayed where he was as he watched a woman come out and seemed a surprise seeing him. As for being lost he knew how to get back to the village area that the settlers had been working on. He had simply wanted to get away from the people for a little while not an uncommon thing for him to do. He wasn’t exactly use to being around a lot of people and the trip here certainly forced him to be around those coming to this land. “No, not lost. Simply taking a walk.”

Nakoma watched the newcomer from behind a tree.  If Pocahontas were here, she’d call Nakoma shy - but that was because Pocahontas just didn’t understand caution.  And caution meant not welcoming every settler with open arms and a loud voice.  At least, he looked like a settler: the same pinkish skin and long hair the color of sand.

She shifted her weight from one foot to another and heard a twig snap under her heel.  Despite Nakoma’s own thoughts about caution, she heard herself gasp aloud in surprise.  Warmth flooded her cheeks - she was certain to be found now.

Adam wasn’t entirely sure what land he was in exactly. He suppose it didn’t matter a great deal nor would he think about it to much. It was a bit different from what he was use to certainly nothing like his castle in this land. He had begun to make his way from the rest of the people he had happen to come with venturing into the forest area. He didn’t walk to long when he heard the obvious sound of a twig which could be someone or some unknown animal. He didn’t know if the same animals that were France were in this land or not. He turned his eyes toward were the sound had come from trying to spot what had made it. “Hello?” He called out not certain if he would have a response returned or not.

[[I really miss playing Nakoma and so I’m going to revive this blog.  Obviously with Amelia and Jane to upkeep I’m not re-joining Nakoma to DWRP, and Nakoma is a Jane sideblog anyway, but I’ll be on here and there!

Shoot me an ask if you wanna rp!
